For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth,What do you get for all your troubles?
And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
-Isaiah 55:10-11 (NKJV)
Read from Romans 5:1-5 (NKJV)...
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Believers in Messiah Jesus don't rejoice in troubles for just any reason. These troubles cause us to persevere and work in us proven character, demonstrating us as approved (δοκιμος) unto God.
Proven character causes us to have our anticipated hope in God, who in His love, will not leave us disappointed. God will guide us through His pruning and cleansing process so that we may become more fruitful in our daily lives.
God never fails, his word always remains true. We continally trust in Him for the assured hope of everlasting life.
He gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields.
He sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
-Job 5:10-11 (NKJV)
So why don't you come in from the rain now? |
